Also known as “Opera Glasses”, these binoculars made of brass, ivory and porcelain were used in the 1890s by the donor’s grandmother. They are designed for use in the theatre, in order to better see what is happening on the stage. They are therefore compact and elegant, to be easily transported and to match the quality of their owner’s evening dress. Donation from Isabel Shaw.
